Thank you, Allan, Linda, Cynthia and Lacey! I really appreciate your support. It has been frustrating (I'm sure many of you can relate to this) painting away, entering competitions, and NEVER winning awards--until 2005, then in 2006 I was totally surprised to win several, and now one in 2007! It is very exciting. As you say, Linda, I'm become "award-ridden" and it's almost embarrassing. But I am enjoying it nevertheless.

I was reflecting on the role the Forum has had in making me work harder and strive for better skills, and I think it has had a substantial influence on my work. There is a group of amazing artists on here, and it is inspiring to see your work and read what you have to say.

I somehow missed the unveiling of this, Alex. It is beautiful. That three-dimensional quality is awesome, on top of everything else. Congratulations!

Garth--if I remember correctly, the other friend was taking the photo. It was a fun evening, and your painting looked magnificent in the show.
