Thanks Steven & Michele. Yes, it is a beautiful place, unfortunatly it's also below zero for 6 months of the year...b rrr. I painted that in NH where I am originally from. When it's dark and cold so much of the year you sure learn to appreciate the spring!

Kim, Congratulations!
That's a beautiful painting -- wouldn't have guessed it was so far north as New Hampshire!
You must be thrilled.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate it. It's unreal right now, I can't wait to see the book.
Terri, I just noticed you are from MA - when I hear anyone from home with the accents I get all homesick. I can spot a NH accent vs. MA or Maine...you want to call me and make me homesick?

Kim, this is such great news! You surely deserve such an honor. Your passion for your work and formidable work ethic (not to mention your talent) are paying off big time.

Although I was born on the Cape and live in MA now... I grew up in New Jersey where I learned how to 'wawk the dawg' rather than 'pahk the cah'. But even that accent was beaten out of me when I went to college in Virginia. So much razzing was heaped upon me that my friends took pity on me a taught me how to speak (northern) Virginian - which is pretty nondescript. If you catch me right after I've been speaking with my family, you might catch a little bit of the Jersey 'aw'... but that's not what you're wanting to hear, I guess. I could put one of my kids on for you... I'd guess they've picked up a bit of the local accent . They're wicked cool!
